KDI

Internship | Brand Refresh | Visual Identity

Kounkuey Design Initiative (KDI) is a design nonprofit that focuses on urban and community design for under-resourced groups. In the summer of 2022, I was fortunate to be a graphic design intern with KDI in their Los Angeles office. KDI brought me on to revise, refresh, and expand their existing brand. While I could not change the logo, I was able to create a new visual identity and brand guidelines. Some of the assets created for KDI included a new color palette, logos for individual offices, various documents and templates, graphic icons and illustrations, and a visual code for individual projects. KDI's internship allowed me to gain practical design and branding experience with a fantastic organization.

Revised Colors

Colors were core to the brand's refresh philosophy of diversity and new approaches.
